Visual Arts Cheshire and Northwich Art Shop invite submissions for the
SPRING OPEN
This is a selected exhibition which takes place at Visual Arts Cheshire’s (VAC) Gallery at Unit 40 Barons Quay in Northwich from 13th April -13th May 2023
CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES - Friday 17th March 2023
This is a joint event organised by VAC and Northwich Art Shop and entries are welcome from all artists aged 16+.
HOW TO ENTER
Artists can submit up to 3 exhibits. There will be a fee of £3 per accepted entry. We will advise you how to make payment when we email with selection details. Artists are free to resubmit any work that isn’t selected for this exhibition for the Annual Art Trail in July (details of this event will be published later in the year.
STEP 1 SUBMIT YOUR JPEGS (by email)
Please submit medium or high resolution images of your entries by email.

STEP 2 (only for those who need to submit a hard copy Entry Form)
Please complete an entry form - available to download from the VAC website https://visualartscheshire.blogspot.com. Forms can also be collected and returned to hand in to the Northwich Art Shop at 111 Witton Street Northwich or to the VAC Gallery (opposite Wildwood Restaurant) at Barons Quay (open Thur - Sat 10.30-16.00) - please write SPRING OPEN on your envelope.
DEADLINE FRIDAY 17TH MARCH
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
All artwork (paintings, mixed media art, photography, ceramics) must be original, produced by the entrant and MUST BE FOR SALE. Please note the selling price must include 20% commission payable to Visual Arts Cheshire. Selection will be made by representatives of VAC and Northwich Art Shop from jpegs of submitted work following receipt of the entry form. Please note that the selection process cannot guarantee that all work will be accepted.
Delivery & Collection
The Spring Open runs from 13th April - 13th May 2023. Artists are responsible for the delivery and collection of their own work to the VAC Gallery –
Delivery Saturday 8th April (10.30-4.00pm)
Collection on Monday 15th May (10.30-4.00pm)
Display
All artists ae requested to complete a display label. The labels will be sent out to artists if their work is selected for the exhibition. If we require an easel, we will also let you know following the selection of work.
Insurance /Sale
All works displayed will be at the artists own risk and should if required, be insured by the artist. In the event of a sale VAC will contact the artist and advise on the method of payment.
Please note -there is commission fee of 20% for sold work so please factor this into your price which is entered on the entry form.

Annual Art Trail
The Spring Open is a new event, but we will also be holding the Annual Art Trail again in July and we hope many of you will submit work for this event too. More details of the Art Trail will be available later in the year.
